Gianna Biondo, originally from Brooklyn, New York began her serious classical training at Manhattan Youth Ballet. While at MYB, she trained under Deborah Wingert, Daniel Ulbricht, Erin Fogarty and Marina Stavitskaya. She attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for Music, Art, and Performing Arts where she expanded her modern dance background in the Graham and Horton techniques. After high school, she continued her studies at Indiana University Ballet Theater under the direction of Michael Vernon, Sarah Wroth, Carla Korbes, Sasha Janes, Kyra Nichols and Christian Claessens. During her time at IU, some of her favorite productions she performed in were George Balanchine’s Valse Fantaisie and Mark Morris’ Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes. Gianna graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Ballet in 2020 and later accepted an apprenticeship with Avant Chamber Ballet where she was featured in Paul Mejia’s The Nutcracker and Katie Puder’s The Seasons. Gianna then joined Ballet North Texas as a Company Dancer in 2021 where she will be entering her second season with the company. Gianna is excited to be a part of the Dallas Ballet Center family.Â
