Esmeralda Ledesma

Esmeralda Ledesma was born in the Oak Cliff area in Dallas, Texas, where she began dancing at a young age at Rosemont Elementary. During her time at Sunset High school, she was an officer for the Sunset Dance Company and Bisonettes drill team, where she expanded her knowledge in jazz, hip-hop, Folklorico, modern and drill team. Eager to expand her knowledge, she is currently attending Texas Woman’s University and will be receiving her Bachelor of Arts in dance with a minor in education in the fall of 2023. She was a member of the International Dance Company performing Folklorico, hip-hop and contemporary pieces with choreographers Elisa De La Rosa, Deardre Randolph, and Sarah Tran. Esmeralda has also choreographed a hip-hop piece for the International Dance Company, where she received the Daryl Cleveland Excellence and Choreography award. She has also performed choreographic works by her peers and has participated in productions, such as the American College Dance Association (ACDA), Turning tables project, and the Latino/a/x Contemporary dance festival. Now, Esmeralda Ledesma is exploring concert stage performances, screen dances to include in her future works, and has made it a point to give back to her community along the way.
