Tap

Katie Fuqua

Katie Fuqua began dancing at The Dallas Ballet Center at age 10 where she studied ballet under Judy and Brent Klopfenstein and tap under the direction of Peggy McCaslin. Her passion for rhythm and movement quickly grew, leading her to begin teaching tap at the studio during her junior and senior years of high school.

Katie has a deep love for working with young dancers and brings a wealth of experience from the classroom to the studio. For the past 14 years, she has taught 1st and 2nd grades at St. John’s Episcopal School in Dallas, where she’s known for her warmth, creativity, and structured approach to learning.

Katie’s tap classes focus on musicality, strong technique, and fostering a lifelong love of movement. She’s committed to creating an encouraging environment where students can build confidence, explore rhythm, and grow as both dancers and individuals.
