
Shelby Hirsch
Ballet, Contemporary, Tap

Shelby Hirsch was born and raised in Bossier City, Louisiana, where she trained under the direction of Carol Anglin in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Horton. As a member of Anglin's Regional Dance America (RDA) Honor Company, Louisiana Dance Theater, Shelby cultivated a passion for performing. She graduated cum laude with a BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College under the direction of Katie Langan, performing works by Merce Cunningham, Steven Petronio, and Twyla Tharp. Upon graduation, Shelby was invited to join Robert Battle's renowned company, Battleworks, as an apprentice. In addition, she toured globally in productions such as Man In the Mirror: A Michael Jackson Tribute Show, The Latin Quarter Show, and The Magic of Rob Lake. She lead the Praise Dance ministry at the Rivington House in New York City and currently serves in the Special Friends ministry at Prestonwood Baptist Church. Training at a Master's level with courses in Dance/Movement Therapy she incorporates the healing aspects of dance and movement into her work with people of all ages and demographics. Shelby resides in Dallas, Texas with her family and two children.
